After working in London for Anthony Demetre, Adam Byatt and Gordon Ramsay in June 2013, Matt opened the first Corner House restaurant in Minster to critical acclaim. Matt passionately believes that there are many corners of Kent and beyond that would welcome Corner House restaurants and has exciting plans for the future of the brand. Matt comments "Team Corner House work with me, not for me. Together we will achieve restaurants that are a little different. I am lucky enough to work with a top team".

Emma first joined the Corner House team as Restaurant Manager in our Minster site in November 2014. Emma previously managed the award winning Waterwitch canal side pub in Lancaster which specialised in homecooked, seasonal food and local cask ales. During her time there, it received the accolade of Best Pub in the North West. Emma attended Lancaster University, achieving a BA in Philosophy and wrote her dissertation on Bob Dylan.

Rebecca joined the Corner House team in February 2017 as a Chef De Partie in Minster. She has worked hard and developed as a chef and now holds the role of joint Head Chef. At home she is a keen baker and makes mouth-watering confectionary and cakes.

Tony joined The Corner House Minster team as Sous Chef in October 2017 and is now joint Head Chef of Canterbury. Tony has previously worked with Matt at the Bayside Brasserie and has a real flare for creating imaginative and truly tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Rick joined us in February 2023 having worked at Cote Brasserie for 6 years. His passion is music. If he’s not singing in the back kitchen, he’s using his annual leave to attend all the music festivals & live gigs he can!

Josh started in March 2023 as a kitchen porter & has worked his way up to Chef De Partie. He is an integral part of the kitchen team as he has able to work in all sections. A popular member of the team due to his great sense of humour. When he is not at work, you are sure to find him at the gym.

Vasileios started in January 2025 as a Sous Chef. He has a real passion for cooking Mediterranean food & has worked in kitchens in Germany & Greece & the UK. When he is not at work, he loves spending with his family.

Claudia completed a law degree with a focus on workplace legislation & started her career as a General Manager at the age of 24. Her passion is wine & food matching & outside work she loves to travel.

Antony joined Corner House is March 2023 having previously worked at Cote Brasserie. His passion is cocktails and makes the best espresso martini in town! He did his degree in Film at Kent University so in his free time he is either watching films or Formula 1.

Georgia joined Corner House in November 2024 as a Supervisor. She has worked at the Cathedral Lodge & the Abode so has always had a passion for hospitality.  When she is not at work she enjoys going to concerts, especially Harry Styles.

Archie joined in June 2023 as a waiter & has worked his way up to Senior Waiting Staff. He makes a great cup pf coffee & his perfecting his latte art. When he is not at work, he’s cheering on Manchester United. 

Aaron joined us as a kitchen porter & has now moved into his new role as a housekeeper which he is really enjoying. He has been in hospitality for 20 years, working in almost every role! Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family & friends & loves cooking & baking. 

Clare brings a wealth of bookkeeping experience to The Corner House and ensures both our staff and suppliers are looked after. Clare ensures every detail of finance world is accurate working with our fantastic accountant Josh at Kent Coast Accounts . Clare is a key player in our team and we are very grateful for what she brings to the party.

Joao, originally from Portugal, joined us after his mother and sister had also been team members (maybe there’s something in the blood).  A good all rounder who works in both the kitchen and the rooms with a dry sense of humour and a whiz with IT.
